This years convention is going on and people from all over the country are going to Dallas to join in. This year, Ameriplan should be announcing the new Secure Net program that will be the first program not to include a health or dental plan. Convention is also a great time to meet top producers in the company and exchange ideas. This is the time of year that everyone gets re-energized in the company and makes large strides toward growing their business. Hop on the train and join us in 2009!

There seems to be a never ending stream of new programs coming out of Washington designed to take more of your money. This week, its the new cap and trade program which will result in the largest tax increase in American history. The program puts a cap on the carbon emmisions that a company will be able to produce, and taxes everything above that. The biggest offenders are power companies and they will pass this tax on to us. Good luck with your future power bills and lets all hope they fail with the new government run health program!

The government is now debating healthcare reform; but the more details come out, the less likely it looks that anything will get done. I believe that the government can’t do anything but hurt in almost every situation, but what needs to be done with healthcare the government is unwilling to do. Too much socialization in the system has caused prices to skyrocket, and more government intervention will only make things worse. The coming weeks will be interesting as the dems and repubs battle it out on the hill!

Ameriplan has launched a new program this week called basic wellness. It includes vision, prescription, hearing services and nurse line for $14.95 per month. Basic health was a package that included all of the health programs but none of the dental programs. Secure net will be the next program to launch in June, and it will be the first program offered by Ameriplan that doesn’t have any dental or health programs in it.

The economic problems seem to keep lingering in the United States. As a result, people are looking for a way to save as much money as possible. Healthcare is very expensive and finding a way to make it cheaper would help millions of Americans. Ameriplan is a great way to help people get the healthcare they need, but few people know about us. As the economy begins to recover, Ameriplan will be a big winner in the health industry. Advertising is the key to growing your business and spreading the word, and those willing to stick with the program will be in a great position over the next ten years!

It’s almost that time of year again… time to travel to Dallas to feel the heat!! I love convetion in Texas, but I always have to prepare myself for the extreme temperature difference. When you are in the building listening to the speakers its really cold, so you step outside for a moment and the heat slaps you in the face like an 18 wheeler. I don’t get to go this year because my wife is about to deliver our first born child! I can’t wait for that either, but we will miss all of our friends. Are you going this year, and if so, could you take some pictures for me??!!

I’ve heard from many new IBOs recently that starting with their warm market is more difficult than usual. I agree; it is more difficult to recruit people at the bottom of a market, but it isn’t just warm market that has seen a decline. When the economy is on the rise, more people start to think about beginning a new business; but we need to get to that point first. Like every other industry in the United States right now, things are slower than usual. Also like every other industry in the United States, the winners will be the business owners that stick with it.

Last year and this year have just been a mess in almost every area of people’s lives. Now we have an outbreak of the swine flu to deal with along with everything else. At least with this I can use my Ameriplan discount to see my doctor; unlike the economy tanking which I can’t do a thing about. Luckily, swine flu is light compared to a regular flu; but I’m not going to take any chances with my family… we go to the doctor. Has anyone had it yet??

I wrote a post about social networking about a year ago, and I can’t believe how important it’s become in just the last 12 months. It started with My Space, then moved into Facebook. Now Twitter is on the rise and it’s amazing how fast everyone is making the transition. I thought cellphones caught on fast as the took over society in about 15 years… but now people are migrating to whole networks in a matter of months. It’s difficult to say what the next big thing will be, but it will be here and gone before most of us realize it even exists! Ameriplan survives by word of mouth, and if you are good at social networking, this could be the way for you to blow away the competition.

You may have noticed that conference call reminders are now coming through the email in the back office. The Go Team training site has a conference call page, but they change frequently now and the updates in the back office are much more up to date. If you are an AmeriPlan IBO, please make sure and pay attention to the updates coming through the back office. There is a lot of good information passed on in the conference calls.
