Ameriplan is such an excellent company with so much to offer, and Duke is dead on right. As an International MLM Trainer, I see so many people who sign up in Ameriplan and they get so excited by the "POSSIBILITY" of making huge money in a short time that they loose perspective and start making decisions not based on concrete realities. Worse, many of these MLM hopefuls have no idea about even the first clue about real concepts of marketing. They base their entire futures on pure HOPE.

Hope is not a solid foundation. It's a fast road to failure. We've all heard the cliche' Failure to plan is a plan to fail. Ameriplan is a real business, no different than owning a McDonald's or any other retail store, but just because it doesn't cost +$100,000 to get started doesn't mean it shouldn't be approached just as seriously with solid foundations in place that include a clear understanding of PROVEN marketing concepts that work for every successful business empire.

You can read up on more of this in one of my BLOGs at:

If your ever on the internet searching around and happen to come across a scam story, you will find after reading the stories that these people went about things in this company the completely wrong way. In one story I had read one broker Quiet his job all together just to work ameriplan and then believed that he was going to have an office of his own, at the new corporate head quarters. The thing is this; realistically you must start out working part time with ameriplan. Know the go team web sit inside and out. It's been a great tool for me! With hard work gradually you will watch your self moving to the top. This is like any other business, it take time, motivation, diligences, and patients. If you stick with it you will make it.

Hello Carol, thank you for posting with us. To answer your question, I have started the Thread "Cold Marketing in thin areas", located in the "cold market" catagory. I will also have a few other experienced IBOs post a reply.

I signed up at the end of February 2007 and I was extremely excited about the program. However, I live in the state of West Virginia and I do not have hardly any Dental providers here in this state and alot of people that I have spoken to are not interested in traveling to PA. to use the membership card, especially since gasoline prices are always fluctuating. They are looking for convience. I have submitted referrals to address this issue, but none of the Dental proividers have joined at this point. The prescription and vision segments seem to have alot of providers, but it seems silly to market the four segments and only be able to utilize two. There are several Dental providers in the surrounding states and I have actually resorted to traveling to one state in particular to get the word out. To my amazement, most businesses that I approached were not the least bit interested in me leaving fliers and/or brochures explaining the Discount program. I also do not have alot of time to get on training calls, because most are in the evenings when I am at work. I have gotten on a few during the day to assist me with calling prospective members and IBO's, but I'd rather have someone call me first, because most of the ones that I have contacted act like I am wasting their time and some of those have been from Leads that I have received from Team Leaders. I like the fliers, but I wanted to know if it would be possible for me to make my own and focus on the areas of the Discount Program that West Virginian's would actually be able to use, and then venture out some more to the surrounding states. Can someone make suggestions? I really want this to work.
