I wrote a post about social networking about a year ago, and I can’t believe how important it’s become in just the last 12 months. It started with My Space, then moved into Facebook. Now Twitter is on the rise and it’s amazing how fast everyone is making the transition. I thought cellphones caught on fast as the took over society in about 15 years… but now people are migrating to whole networks in a matter of months. It’s difficult to say what the next big thing will be, but it will be here and gone before most of us realize it even exists! Ameriplan survives by word of mouth, and if you are good at social networking, this could be the way for you to blow away the competition.

Websites like Digg and Twitter are all the rage these days, and the seem to be getting even more popular. Social networking is now the way that people in the U.S. meet and keep up with their social circle. Like the chatrooms of old, these sites allow people to have an ongoing conversation with whoever wants to talk. You can bookmark all of your favorite websites and resources and share them with the rest of America. Using this medium could be very profitable if you can figure out how. Does anyone know how to use these tools and how to do it effectively, or is this just another passing trend that will quickly be replaced with another?

Blogging and social networking have become very big in the MLM areas. Classified ads in print used to work well before everyone got online. Now, we have classified ads on the internet and they have become more used than anything in print. Finding the right place to advertise can be time consuming but it’s usually free to anyone with the time. Has anyone tried any of these mediums besides me? What kind of experience did you have?

As time marches on, the internet changes at a frightning pace. 10 years ago, no one had even heard of a blog. Now it’s the way the majority of Americans socialize with new friends and contacts across the country. Pay per click is still profitable, but social networking puts you in contact with many more people who are interested in talking. Who knows what the next step will be in the rapidly expanding internet? What do you think is the best forum out there for talking to potential customers?

A new type of cold marketing is starting to be used by internet ready IBOs. Blogging has been around for some time and just like instant messaging before it and chat rooms before that, blogging is a giant community conversation. AmeriPlan ® is most effectively marketed as a conversation so blogging gives you the ability to market your business through conversations with thousands of people nationwide! Any bloggers out there care to comment on this method?

I haven’t heard of any new methods in the last 6 months. I would love some feedback here on any methods that you feel should be included in the cold market section of the Go Team training. I get many IBOs looking for sizzle cards and postcards, but still no one brave enough to try something bigger. If you have any new ideas, please reply here!

In the training course at the Go Team, I never got to finish the section I created on buttons because I couldn’t find a producer that already had pre made AmeriPlan ® buttons. Now I need to go in and update it with the new information about the buttons available at the AmeriPlan ® store! They look like a giant tooth and it attaches to your shirt or jacket to advertise to anyone that walkes by you. I really like these type of passive advertising methods. Anyone who is interested in your dental program will just ask you about it and you don’t really need to approach people yourself! Has anyone used the new buttons yet?

This topic is for all the IBOs in areas that are thin on providers. Carol wrote that she was having a hard time getting members in her immediate area because of the lack of dentists in West Virginia. She asked about making custom flyers tailored to her area that didn’t stress the dental. Truthfully, I havn’t seed much success advertising AmeriPlan ® in areas that don’t have enough dental providers, but some of the most successful IBOs in AmeriPlan ® were the ones who got the ball rolling in thier own thin states. Carol said that she had refered several dentists in the area to AmeriPlan ® but hadn’t seen any of them become providers yet. Refering these dentists is exactly what she needs to do, but it takes time for AmeriPlan ® to approach them, certify them, and contract them. In the mean time, NATIONAL adveritsing would probly be a better bet. I have covered some of the methods for national advertising in Cold Market Training 2, but there are alot more methods than what I go into. It may take awhile to develop your immediate area, but don’t lose faith, it just means we have lots of room to grow!

I have never personally advertised on the radio or it’s big brother the TV. I have always just believed that it’s out of my price range or it’s too complicated and I don’t know anyone that can tell me what to do. Is that also the general feeling among everyone else as well? I don’t hear anyone here in Denver using the radio to advertise AmeriPlan ®. Anyone feel like trying it?

There are many ways to advertise AmeriPlan ® using the internet. Internet leads, Pay Per Click, Banner Ads, Local Directory Inclusion, Online Classified Ads and even Craig’s List are all internet advertising forms and there are dozens of others as well. IBOs usually find the one they are the most comfortable with and run it to death, but all bias aside, which is the best?
